Our Research
Centra BioRes conducts translational biomarker research across three strategic focus areas, supported by state-of-the-art laboratory facilities at Universitas Padjadjaran.
FOCUS AREAS
Research Areas
Our research is aligned with Unpad’s 2020–2024 strategic roadmap, targeting biology markers that can be translated into real-world clinical applications.
🦠 Infectious Diseases
Indonesia’s tropical climate makes it particularly vulnerable to infectious diseases. Our research focuses on identifying and validating biology markers in diseases including Tuberculosis (TB), HIV, and emerging pathogens such as COVID-19. We utilize our certified BSL-3 laboratory to conduct high-containment research safely and rigorously.

🔬 Oncology
Cancer remains one of Indonesia’s leading causes of mortality. Our oncology research develops diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers to support precision medicine — enabling earlier detection, more targeted therapies, and better patient outcomes through a translational bench-to-bedside approach.

🌿 Herbal Sciences
Indonesia is home to one of the world’s richest biodiversities. Our herbal sciences research applies biomarker methodology to Indonesian medicinal plants, aiming to produce standardized, evidence-based herbal products that can be applied clinically and distributed at scale.
